NSPS News and Views, 8/20/2020:

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Justice Department, DHS and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued legal guidance for public and private entities on how to spot and mitigate any threats from unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) or “drones”. Agencies issued a joint advisory guidance document to help non-federal public and private entities better understand the federal laws and regulations that may apply to the use of capabilities to detect and mitigate threats posed by drones. The advisory does not address state and local laws, which UAS detection and mitigation capabilities may also implicate. Neither does it cover potential civil liability flowing from the use of UAS detection and mitigation technologies.
