The NYSAPLS Public Relations Committee

has been hard at work with the assistance of Gramercy Communications.

Poll to Measure Public Perception of Surveyors

Watch your inboxes for details on our next  PR campaign, which will help us measure the general public's perception of land surveyors. We are leaning on our members to help us share the short survey by adding a web-link to your invoices and/or email signature, posting the message on local community bulletin boards and sharing on social media. More detail TBA soon!

Facebook Advertising

To further the public profile of NYSAPLS, Gramercy has recommended the implementation of another social media ad campaign including a mix of continuous evergreen ads and boosted posts. The evergreen ad will raise NYSAPLS’s brand awareness, drive more traffic to the website and educate the public about the land surveying profession. A series of boosted posts throughout the year will allow us to highlight specific posts and updates to a geo-targeted audience.

Press Releases

Two press releases were created and circulated by Gramercy. The first release featured the announcement of our 61st Annual Surveyors Conference and Exhibition to be held January 22-24, 2020 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino January. The second release highlighted the passing of Land Surveyor Education Bill A.3937-A, which eliminates the all-experience pathway to licensure as a professional land surveyor in New York State.

New Member News Form

A new website feature was created to encourage members to share local surveying related news. By submitting your current projects on our new "Member News" form, we will be able to curate blog posts and other media collateral to showcase our regional event and members.

Find a Surveyor
Our "Find a Surveyor" webpage has been updated to assist the general public in finding you! We have added two new features to the search form: (1) capability to search by distance (2) capability to search by work performed. We need your help! Be sure to login to our website to verify your professional contact information and be sure to select the various services you provide. Please contact our office if you need assistance logging in or navigating our website.

Did you know the NYSAPLS e
xhibit booth and promotional materials are available to members to use free of charge? The committee will be utilizing the booth to promote NYSAPLS at several conferences and trade shows this year. We encourage you to seek additional opportunities in your local area (such as high school career fairs, home shows, and conferences related to the profession) in which you can display the booth and further our message on the importance of professional land surveying.
