About the workshop:

This workshop will provide updated information about the planned modernization of the National Spatial reference System (NSRS). Specifically, NGS's plans to replace the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83) and the North American Vertical datum of 1988 (NAVD 88) in 2022. This workshop will provide an opportunity for NGS to share updates and discuss the progress of projects related to NSRS Modernization. We will begin with a discussion of history of NAVD 88, and why changes have taken place over the years. We will spend the remainder of the workshop discussing individual projects that contribute to the new modernized NSRS (New Data Delivery System, SPC2022, Grav-D, Modernized CORS, enhancements to OPUS, and GPSonBM for the new transformation tool.
