Automated Machine Guidance and the Professional Surveyor

Approved for 1.0 NY CE

Through case studies, participants will learn about standard operating procedures and best practices relating to Automated machine Guidance technology and 3D data preparation with special focus on projects where advanced technologies have been implemented. Case studies will detail the important role that in-house, outside surveyors and engineers play in ensuring successful application of AMG technology in the AMG world.

  2. Explain how AMG has changed the construction and surveying industry.
  3. Successfully apply AMG technology in everyday practice.

About our Speaker

Mike is a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College in Construction Management. He worked for Callanan Industries as a QC/QA Technician for 2 years before starting with Rifenburg Construction in 1999. He was promoted to a project foreman position and eventually to a survey department position. As party chief surveyor for Rifenburg for 16 years, he was in charge of multiple projects throughout New York and as far as North Carolina. He was responsible for building all 3D GNSS and AMG data models for all Rifenburg projects, as well as the GNSS applications (machines and RTK rovers) that are used on these projects.  Additional responsibilities included selecting, purchasing, reparing and general maintenance of all of Rifenburg's GNSS and AMG equipment. Rifenburg currently has over 33 GNSS RTK rovers and data collectors, 17 GNSS AMG machines and 4 robotic optical instruments. Since 2016, Mike works for Topcon Positioning Professional Services. He trains and supports Topcon Machine control Products at manufacturer level with a special focus on paving.

After both steps are completed, registrants will receive an email confirmation that includes a unique weblink for the webinar. This weblink cannot be shared as it is unique to the individual registrant. But you can place the webinar on speaker phone so that staff in your office can participate in the program.


NYSAPLS Cancellation Policy:

Payment must be made in full upon registration. Purchase orders not accepted. Registrations cancelled 30 days or earlier will receive a full refund less a 10% processing fee. Cancellations 10-29 days prior will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations 0-9 days prior to the event will not receive a refund. Receipts will be provided at time of registration if requested. Schedules, presenters and programs subject to change without notice. Refunds will not be given due to inclement weather.
