This course will be a case study of Gayron de Bruin's experience developing mapping for the Forge River Sewer Project. The project consisted of 30 miles of streets, 988 acres of land, more than 23 hundred land parcels and more than 3,800 buildings. The discussion will cover the use of GIS to manage the photogrammetry, project control, setting of property lines, and management of utility record documents. Web-based mapping applications were built for use by field personnel, but the client and owner.


Course Objectives:

1. Find free GIS data on the web.

2. Describe some applications for using GIS to manage daily survey workflows

3. Use a GIS web application to query control, boundary, and record data.
