New York's State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) requires all state and local government agencies to consider environmental impacts prior to reaching decisions about approvals for private and governmental projects. Except for the most minor projects, clients will have to meet various procedural and substantive standards before they proceed. New York State is changing the regulations and forms associated with the process and this program will layout the basics you need to navigate the process and latest cases of note.

Seminar Goals and Objectives

  1. Explain how SEQRA is incorporated to local review processes.
  2. Distinguish between the three types of "actions" under SEQRA: Type I, Type II and unlisted.
  3. Locate and use State of New York resources to gather the necessary information and complete required forms to commence SEQRA review.
